![]() How do I start to pick a theme for my nursery? This can be done several ways. If you already have a color scheme in mind, then you will need to look for a theme with those colors that you and your baby will enjoy. Or, if you are already set on a theme, I would find the crib bedding in that theme that suits you, and choose colors from it for walls, floors and accents. I would look on the internet and in magazines to start to get a feel for what you like first. The themes are endless from simple geometrics to intrique jungle animal patterns. I really would like to do my baby's nursery in an alphabet theme, but I am afraid that might be too "baby-ish" as my child grows up. What do you think? An alphabet theme would be great for your new baby! However, my advice would be to do the alphabet theme in the baby crib set and possibly some removable wall decals. Use solid color paint and accessorize the room with shelves that contain items that start with letters of the alphabet, such as a plush elephant for "E", etc. That way, when your child grows out of a crib, you can replace the crib and crib bedding with another pattern without having to redo everything in the room and spend a ton of money. The wall color, flooring and accessories can stay for years to come. |
